After learning to sketch for days, I started to learn to crosshatch for the purpose of shading. From this sketch, I learned to distribute different weight of lines on shading by observing the shape of the apple the light on it to create shadows. The darker areas require thicker lines and more crosses between them.

Negative Space
Sketching objects in the negative space is uneasy but really helps me to think and observe in an unusual way. It developed my abstract thinking skills and the ability to transfer that into a paper. The most difficult part of this sketch is showing the overlap part of these two chairs at the top corners, however which is the most important part to express the sense of realistic over all.
Line Project
This is a very fun discovery project that I spent a lot of time on tracing different lines and feel the various expressions of straight line, curved line, thin line, thick line and etc. I am inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's passion of nonstop learning and self experiencing to every direction in his life. With multiple paths overlap on each other and have the exchanging between wide and narrow, it creates an illusion space and developed the emotion of going on different journey to pursuit uncertainties. From this project I realized how amazing could simple lines create illusional space and the contract with one end of a path close to a beginning of the other could really emphasizes the differences. However, it is difficult to draw a perfect smooth curved line on a big picture by hand like this.
