Analyzing Elements & Principle of Design on Campus
In ID 103, we learned some of the basic elements and principles of design in order to help us to understand and present ideas and projects better. The first part of this assignment is reading and doing research on defining the assigned 29 elements and principles of design. It was quite challenging for me to understanding the contents of the reading at the beginning but the instructor's lecture and answering the questions that I asked were really helpful. Next, I drew two sketches and took most of the pictures in the Engineering Laboratory Building and the Carpenter Hall for illusitions for this poster. Finally, I put together the images and taxt by using InDesign to organize and edit them.
It is the first time I use InDesign. This was definitely a fun and challenging experience. Hours and hours of work makes me become more familiar with thie program and find out many tricks. For instance, the frame of pictures and taxt boxes will turn green when it comes to equal space measurement in between; Adding transparency into the background could make the contents to stand out more and easier for people to read the taxt.
Also, through out this assignment, I also learned and experienced how to use plotter to print poster.I
